Frequently asked questions
How does Ivy High work?
Ivy High brings the structure of school into the comfort of home. Students attend live, teacher-led lessons, follow a structured timetable and access learning resources through our online platform. We provide a supportive learning environment designed to make education engaging, accessible and flexible.
Are lessons live or pre-recorded?
All our lessons are delivered live by teachers, allowing students to ask questions, participate in discussions and interact with classmates in real time. Lessons are also recorded, so students can revisit topics or catch up whenever they need to.
What does a typical school day look like?
Our school week runs from Monday to Thursday, with lessons beginning at 9:00 am. Students have around four 45-minute lessons each day, leaving time for independent learning, hobbies and family life.
Will Ivy High support us after enrolment?
Absolutely. At Ivy High, our relationship with families doesn’t end at enrolment. We understand that choosing an alternative education is an important decision, often made because you’re looking for something different for your child.
That’s why we value regular communication, check in on your child’s progress and remain available to discuss questions or concerns throughout your home education journey.
We genuinely care about the children and families who join us, and we’ll always do our best to listen, support and help every child thrive.
How much does Ivy High cost?
Our fees start from £299 per month for Years 7–9 and £329 per month for Years 10–11, based on an annual commitment. We offer three packages to suit different learning needs, with fees paid in convenient monthly instalments. Half term contract also available.
View Fees & Packages →Can my child take GCSEs with Ivy High?
Yes! Ivy High offers International GCSE (IGCSE) courses in a range of subjects, helping students work towards internationally recognised qualifications. Students sit their examinations at an approved examination centre, with guidance available to help families understand the examination process.
How will my child make friends and socialise?
Learning online doesn’t mean missing out on friendships. Students can connect with classmates through interactive lessons, online clubs, group activities and in-person meet-ups, creating opportunities to build friendships and feel part of the Ivy High community.
Is Ivy High suitable for children with additional learning needs?
We understand that every child learns differently. Our structured online environment may suit students who benefit from learning at home or a different approach to traditional schooling. We encourage families to discuss their child’s individual needs with us so we can explore whether Ivy High is the right fit.
How does Ivy High keep students safe online?
Student safety is a priority at Ivy High. We are committed to providing a safe, respectful online learning environment, with clear expectations for student behaviour and safeguarding procedures designed to protect children’s wellbeing.
Can my child join Ivy High during the school year?
Yes, students can apply to join Ivy High throughout the academic year, subject to availability. Whether you’re transitioning from a traditional school or already home educating, our admissions team can guide you through the enrolment process.
